Knowing who you are often requires looking back at where you came from.
Lizzie Armour purchased Sundown Point Farm in the seventies looking for a change of pace from city life in Vancouver for herself and her three children. After searching the Gulf Islands for the perfect property, she stumbled across 39 acres of waterfront farmland on Salt Spring Island—Sundown Point Farm, or as her family affectionately calls it ‘the farm’.
There’s nowhere quite like the farm because there’s no one quite like Lizzie. She created a place where everyone felt welcome: No matter your gender identity, race, colour or creed—everyone had a seat at her table.
Often found serving lunch amongst the rows of wildflowers in her garden, in the barnyard with her beloved chickens or wandering down her private beach picking up seashells, Lizzie is and will always be the beating heart of the farm and her family.
Looking to carry on Lizzie’s legacy, her granddaughter, Brianna Armour and soon-to-be husband Marcus Jolly, founded Sundown Point Farm Weddings & Events to honour what Lizzie created for her family and for everyone who visits the farm—a place people feel loved, cherished and connected.
